How it works
Type or paste Standard German on the left and read it in Alman on the right. The translation comes from GoePT-1-20M, an open model with 20 million parameters trained to translate German into Alman. It scores 86.8 % on AlmanBench, the project’s acceptance benchmark.
The first translation downloads the model, about 34 MB. Your browser caches it, and everything runs on your device. No text is sent to any server. Text is translated sentence by sentence, and a sentence the model cannot handle safely, for example one that is far too long, is left unchanged.
The same model powers Almanpedia, which translates German Wikipedia articles into Alman as you read them. Translations are machine output and can contain mistakes. The specification is the reference for Alman grammar.
